Why This Resource Exists
Georgia makes many jail, court, correctional, and release records available to the public, but the records sit in separate systems. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office documents county bookings and releases. The Georgia Department of Corrections operates the statewide offender search for state prisoners and former state offenders. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles and Georgia Department of Community Supervision provide separate routes for parole and felony supervision. Federal releases belong in BOP records, while ICE operates its own detainee locator.
This site organizes those release records, status tools, supervision lookups, and request steps by custody type. It also explains when a person who left one facility may have transferred into another system instead of returning to the community.
